Story Behind the Art

This painting was inspired by the powerful truth in Proverbs 22:6 and the love Jesus has for children. In this second piece from my “Hear Him” series, I pictured a moment where Christ shows what it means to enter the Kingdom with childlike trust. Each child sits close, listening intently, their eyes filled with light and wonder. You can almost hear His voice: gentle, patient, full of joy.

One of my favorite details is the open gesture of Jesus’ hands. It’s like He’s saying, “Come, listen, you belong here.” That sense of warmth and safety is something I wanted to fill every inch of the canvas.

As a parent myself, this scripture means a lot to me. I’ve seen how the smallest spiritual moments can leave a lifelong imprint. This piece is a celebration of those beginnings. It’s for anyone who’s tried to teach their children to hear Him, even when life is busy and imperfect.
