Story Behind the Art

Precious Days was inspired by the beautiful truth in Psalm 118:24: a reminder to treasure the gift of each day, especially the ones that seem simple, quiet, and full of love. In this piece, a mother carries her sleeping child through a sun-drenched field of forget-me-nots, their day of play coming gently to a close. The precious moment between them is a celebration of what really matters most.

One of my favorite things about this piece is the warmth of the sunset, and how it wraps around the mother and child like a blessing. I chose forget-me-nots for the flowers because they symbolize remembrance and gratitude. To me, they’re a quiet way of saying, “Don’t forget how precious this season is. Don’t forget how quickly it passes.” As followers of Christ, we understand the sacredness of family life, and that our most ordinary days are often our most eternal.

I’ve found that some of the most precious memories come in the smallest, most fleeting moments: carrying a sleepy child, whispering a prayer of thanks, feeling the Spirit while watching the sun set behind a field of wildflowers. I made "Precious Days" to honor those moments that we often don’t realize are holy until they’ve passed.
